This makes lots of sense. I grew up in a rural setting in a very old house with well water. Toughing out colds and flu were accepted as part of life and the only medicine I ever got was an occasional spoonful of cough syrup. Add on playing in sandpits and fields, dogs in and out of the house, bee stings, burns, cuts, red ant bites. I went to the dentist at least once a year, never smoked, started exercising regularly in my late 20s. Now I am practically impervious to disease and when I do get sick it’s short lived.
